So I've been putting off replacing my car battery for way too long, I knew it was on its last legs because the starts were getting slower and slower every morning, but I told myself I'd kept deal with it next weekend. Of course that came back to bite me yesterday when I was leaving the office in DIFC around 6pm and my car just refused to start, not even a proper click just some sad little noise like it was apologizing for letting me down. I called a few numbers from Google and honestly the first couple places either didn't pick up or said they'd be at least an hour, which was not going to work because I had dinner plans with friends in Marina. Then I found batteryzoneuae.com/car-jumpstart/ and figured I'd give it a shot since they seemed to have pretty clear info about response times and coverage areas. The guy showed up in literally less than 20 minutes, which honestly shocked me because I was fully prepared to be sitting there for ages watching people walk past giving me those pitying looks. He was super professional too, didn't make me feel stupid for not having cables or anything, just got the jump started and even checked my alternator to make sure that wasn't the actual problem. Got me back on the road quick enough that I actually made it to dinner with time to spare, which felt like a miracle considering how my day was going. Definitely learned my lesson though, I'm ordering a new battery this weekend because I don't want to rely on that kind of luck again, but I have to say the whole experience was way less painful than I expected. Just wondering if anyone else has had similarly quick service or if I just got lucky with timing, because I'm honestly still kind of amazed they showed up that fast during rush hour.
